Asim is 1!

Alhamdulillah, Baby Haniyya turned 1 on February 17, 2010.

We were supposed to go for his 1 year immunisation yesterday, but he is still on medication for running nose, so the immunisation has to wait. Now that he is one, Baby Haniyya ...

• Weighs more than 10kg now.
• Is an expert at 'cruising' - walking while holding onto furniture
• Could stand alone momentarily.
• Could not yet walk on his own - but had already took the first two tentative steps on his own a week ago.
• Love walking by holding onto an adult's hand
• Could descend from the bed on his own, tentatively
• Could shake his head 'no' (which by the way is also his reaction when we chants "La ila haillallah")
• Could usually join in his two big brothers's meal time because he already has 6 teeth (4 upper, 2 lower) and growing more
• Could drink from a cup, but still mostly drink from his bottle.
• Needs at least one feeding in the middle of the nigh
• Could use his thumb and index finger to pick up small objects - like a piece of Koko Krunch or crumbs of his brother's Chipsmore
• Love nibbling on a cream cracker/biskut marie on his own (I miss the good ol' Hai Hain akachan senbei - both his big brothers loved it)
• Love banging the toys - especially if it light up or make a musical sound as a result of the bang
• Love gazing at his own reflection (as we point out the different body parts)
• Looks really cute whenever he imitates "sujud" (or combintion of ruku' and sujud) as he sees us performing solat

Here's making a do'a for Muhammad Asim Haniyya to grow up as an anak soleh yang mukmin, a qurratu a'yun, showered with lots of Allah's blessings, good health, prosperity and in time will bring benefits to his family, community, country and Islam... Ammmiiinnn...
